    Michelle Obama


    Michelle Obama is the 44th first lady of United States and she is married to one of the most powerful man of the current world Barack Obama. She is known to world as a first lady but instead of this, she is also a writer and lawyer in Chicago city. she is the African American first lady. She became role model for all the women around the world. She has served as advocate for higher education, international adolescent girls education, service members and healthy families.
    She was born on January 17, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois. Her father was a city pump operator and precinct captain. Her mother was a secretary at Spiegel’s but after the birth of Michelle and her siblings, she stayed home to raise them. Her older brother name is Craig. She had a very good family, they used to play games and share meals together. They were raised in the environment of education. In 6th grade she learned to speak French and she studied biology in school. In 1982 she graduated from school. Her brother had done his degree from Princeton university. She followed his footsteps and went to Princeton to do BA in Sociology. After getting her degree from Princeton, she went to Harvard law school to study law. She was awarded J.D. in 1988.
    After graduating from law school, she started to work as associate in Sidley Austin in marketing and intellectual property. In 1989 she met her future husband Barack Obama. Obama was intern in summer and she was appointed as his advisor. They fell in love afterwards. On October 3, 1992, they married at Trinity Church of Christ.

    After spending some time with Obama, she realized that her nature is to serve with people for their communities and their neighbors. She has served as assistant commissioner of planning and development in city hall of Chicago. She joined University of Chicago in 1996 with a vision to bring campus and community together. She became associate Dean of student service. She made first community service program for the university.
    She launched Let’s Move in 2010. The basic motive of this campaign is to bring together leaders, educators, parents, medical professions to address childhood obesity.
    Michelle along with Dr. Jill Biden launch Joining Forces in 2011. The main initiative of this campaign is to bring together all the Americans to support veterans, service members, and their families.
    She launched Reach higher in 2014. The main motive of this campaign is to inspire young Americans to complete their education high schools, colleges and professional training programs.
    Mr. Obama and Michelle together launched a program Let Girls Learn. It was a worldwide initiative to help girls around the world to attend school and colleges.
    In an interview, Mr. and Mrs. Obama has clearly stated that their primary concern is their daughters.
